FAQ

General questions

How is my child’s division determined?
By their age on the season’s eligibility cutoff date, not their age today. For Fall 2026, divisions were based on age as of April 30, 2027, so players moving up could learn their spring-league rules in the fall.
Can I just drop my kid off? Do I have to stay for practice?
The league prefers and encourages parents to stay. If you can’t, arrange for a responsible adult to be there — another household member, a babysitter, or a teammate’s parent. Coaches cannot be the decision-maker in an emergency.
Do we need to practice outside of team practices and games?
It isn’t required, but it helps enormously. You don’t need a batting cage — playing catch, tossing ground balls, or light soft-toss or tee hitting at home makes a big difference.
What is the rainout policy?
Assume the game is on until you hear from your coach — the fields drain well. Games called for rain are made up at the earliest open slot; historically, Saturday rainouts were made up on Sunday after 2:00 PM. Canceled practices are not made up.
Can my child play up or down a level?
No child can play down. To play up, register in your child’s age group and note that you’d like them to play up. They’ll evaluate in their age group and coaches make a recommendation to the league.
Can my child be on the same team as a friend?
Maybe, but it can’t be guaranteed. Teams are drafted to be skill-balanced. Coaches try to accommodate requests, but balanced teams come first.
Can I request a practice day?
No. After the draft, each coach picks a practice day that works for their availability.
What if my child really wants to play and we can’t afford it?
Contact the sports office to discuss options: 678-285-3248 or lisab@mountparannorth.com.
What equipment do we need?
Players provide their own glove, cleats and baseball pants. The coach chooses the pants color, so wait to buy pants until you hear from your coach. The team cap and jersey are included.
How does the concession-stand deposit work?
A $25 deposit per player is charged at Crossbar checkout. Parents work one hour at the concession stand per child playing, and the deposit is returned at the end of that shift.
What is the refund policy?
Refund deadlines are set per season on Crossbar. For Fall 2026, refunds were available through August 1, 2026, with a non-refundable $25 administration fee per refund.

Age 4

Rookie tee ball questions

Is tee ball really free for 4-year-olds?
Under the Fall 2026 structure, the Rookie league had no separate league fee. A $25 concession-stand deposit is collected at checkout and returned after a parent works a one-hour concession shift.
Why is there a $25 charge if Rookie is free?
That $25 is a refundable deposit, not a league fee. It makes sure every family helps staff the concession stand for one hour, and you get it back at the end of your shift.
Does my 4-year-old get a uniform?
Yes. Rookie players receive a team cap and jersey, just like every other division.
Do 4-year-olds need to try out?
No. There is no evaluation for Rookie. There is a team parent meeting before the season begins.
When does Rookie play?
Rookie plays only on Saturdays. Practice and game together last about one hour on a Saturday morning.
What does my child need to bring?
A glove, cleats and baseball pants (your coach picks the pants color). Water and sunscreen are always a good idea.
My child turns 4 soon. Are they eligible?
Eligibility is based on age on the season cutoff date. For Fall 2026, that was age 4 as of April 30, 2027. Check the current season’s cutoff on Crossbar.
